Looking for Corian worktops?
We're stone specialists – granite, quartz and marble – so we don't make or fit Corian ourselves. But we're asked about it a lot, so we've got a trusted Corian specialist we're happy to recommend.
Call 0114 299 41 40 or send us a WhatsApp and we'll pass on their details – whether you're in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham or elsewhere in Yorkshire.
What is Corian?
Corian is a solid surface made by DuPont from acrylic resin and natural minerals. Because it's the same all the way through, joins are virtually invisible, and sinks, drainers and upstands can be formed in one piece with the worktop. It's non-porous, and light scratches can be buffed out.
Corian or quartz?
They suit different kitchens, so it's worth comparing before you decide:
| Corian | Quartz | |
|---|---|---|
| Joins | Virtually invisible | Discreet, but visible up close |
| Integrated sinks | Yes, moulded in | Undermount sinks |
| Scratch resistance | Good – scratches buff out | Excellent |
| Heat resistance | Moderate – always use a trivet | Good – trivets advised for very hot pans |
| Look | Smooth, matte, solid colours | Wide range, including marble-look veining |
If quartz suits you better, we can help directly – see quartz worktops in Sheffield, white quartz or quartz prices per metre.
Corian FAQs
Do you fit Corian worktops? No – we specialise in granite, quartz and marble. We'll happily recommend a Corian specialist we trust.
Can Corian worktops be repaired? Yes – light scratches buff out, and chips and burns can usually be repaired. A Corian specialist is the best person to do it.
Is there a stone that looks like Corian? Plain, solid-colour quartz in white, grey or black gives a similar clean, minimal look, with better heat and scratch resistance. Ask us for samples.
